FAQs

When is the next Annual Conference?

The 2012 Annual Conference will be on 17th May 2012 at the Royal York Hotel in York.

Can I go to the HASSRA Annual Conference?

The HASSRA constitution outlines who makes up the bulk of attendees and mainly consists of HASSRA volunteers and certain HASSRA personnel. Other members of Regional Associations or HASSRA clubs are also able to attend either as the nominated delegate of their Regional Association, or as an observer. Obviously, there isn’t enough room for all 70,000 of HASSRA’s members to attend but most requests can usually be accommodated. Your HASSRA Regional Business Partner will be able to provide more information about attending the HASSRA Conference.

How does a ‘motion’ get raised at Conference?

In advance of the Annual Conference, Regional Associations hold their own Annual General Meetings (AGMs). AGMs take place in March and are widely publicised.

Amongst other things, regional AGMs consider issues brought forward by clubs or members in the region. Where those issues cannot be decided or have an impact on national policies or the national programme, then the Regional Association will vote on the proposition and, if agreed, will submit the issue as a ‘motion’ for consideration at HASSRA’s Annual Conference.

How can I find out what decisions were taken at the Annual Conference?

Decisions are recorded in the Annual Conference Minutes.
