Buddy Draw 2008The HASSRA Buddy Draw was launched in April 2008 as an incentive for members to encourage non members to join HASSRA and, providing they remained members for at least 3 months, not only they were entered into a draw to win one of 3 cash prizes, but their sponsor won the identical prize. The three lucky new members and their sponsors are: £1000: Jacqueline Carson and Alice Gatley (sponsor) – Derby Contact Centre £500: Jodie Taylor and Lynn Lynock (sponsor) – Dudley CSA £250: Elizabeth Singh and Lorna Innes (sponsor) – Tonbridge JCP (S EAST) Congratulations to them all and may they continue to enjoy the benefits of HASSRA. |

Dubai CompetitionRobert James (Hackney BDC) was the lucky winner of a four day trip for two to Dubai including flights, accommodation, an excursion and £300 spending money. Robert correctly named the ruling family of Dubai as Al Maktoum. Congratulations to Robert and we hope he has a fantastic trip. |

HASSRA Literary CompetitionThe 2008 HASSRA Literary Competition saw a high volume of entries once again from HASSRA’s inspiring writers. Congratulations to all the winners, runners-up and highly commended entries. The winners are: Poetry: Winner - The Ten Commandments” by Graham Brown (Newport IOW JCP), runner-up - “The Tea Room In The Trees”; by Jean Bleming (Shoreham DMA). There were two highly commended: “Cold Spoon” by Sue Brooks (Canterbury BDC) and “The Shadow of the Crow” (part 1) by Colin Muir (Falkirk CSA). Short Story: Winner – “Fairground Attraction” by Keith Morley (Leicester PC), runner-up – “Nifty Fifties” by Sharon Haston (Falkirk CSA) and two highly commended entries – “The Little Terrier” by Gary Hawes (Ipswich JCP) and “An unlucky Spouse” by Sue Brooks (Canterbury BDC).
