HASSRA ATHLETICS MANAGEMENT TEAM

The HASSRA Athletics Management Team consists of Nick Hume and Steve Groom. Steve carries out the Administrative Support from HASSRA Central Support., whilst Nick is responsible for Team Selection.

We would like to encourage more people to represent National HASSRA in CSSC Sports & Leisure Athletics events. Expenses are payable by National HASSRA and special leave can be granted at line management discretion. To be eligible for selection you need to be a member of both HASSRA and the CSSC Sports & Leisure. The annual calendar of events are: 10K road race, Track & Field (Open & Masters), Race Walking, Marathon, Road Relays and Cross Country.

Don’t be afraid of the standard of competition. Athletics is primarily an individual sport which enables people of all standards to take part. Indeed, the standards displayed at events varies greatly and, provided individuals aim to compete their event at their own pace, no-one need worry about the competition. First and foremost we want you to enjoy taking part and wanting to come back for more!! However, if you want to know the standards at the event, have a look at the ‘results’ section of the Civil Service Athletics Association Website.

Please let either Nick or Steve know if you wish to be considered for any of the events. Please note that there are standards for participation in the 10k, Cross Country and Road Relays. You’ll need to indicate your preferred events for the year (including previous best times), your age (for veteran’s events), office location (full address and telephone number) as well as any other relevant athletic information you have.
