Background
HASSRA North East Region went ‘Live’ on 1st November 2005. The new Region was created as the result of a decision made by National HASSRA, in 2003, to revise its Regional boundary structure to one more closely aligned to the Government Office Regions (GOR). The old ‘HASSRA North Eastern’ and ‘HASSRA Newcastle’ ceased to exist and HASSRA North East Region was born!
Membership
There are approximately 7,800 members in North East Region who are based in the following areas:
- Northumberland
- Durham
- Tyne and Wear
- Teeside
The majority of members work for DWP and the related Departments, however, we also have members who work for EDS; Capita; Sema; Syntegra and of course, we also have our Retired members.
