Friday 28 October: The great HASSRA Treasure Hunt. Meet at the Ginger Goose between 5pm and 6pm for a great night out. Prizes for the top 3 teams (£50, £30 and £20). If you want more details email Helen.mcguire@dwp.gsi.gov.uk Saturday 3 December: Annual Christmas coach trip to Chester. £5 HASSRA members and children, £10 everyone else. More details to follow in a flyer that will be distributed around your office before the end of October. Friday 23 December: HASSRA Christmas Party!!!! Starts 7.30pm in the cellar bar of the Beehive Inn on Westgate. Live band and DJ. Cash prizes on the night!!! The event is open for anyone so bring your mates, your partner or your granny if you like. More details to folllow later |
We say Goodbye and Fare Ye well to Di Porter this month L Di has been a member of HASSRA for 40 years working at various different offices around Bradford. She served on the local HASSRA committee for much of that time and helped organise lots of events and fundraisers. She’ll be sadly missed by all her friends and colleagues at Westfield House. Jim Cuthertson, of Westfield House, who is also a long standing son of HASSRA (and ex-Bradford City player!!!), recently represented Y&H in the national tennis finals and did rather well. Just what are they putting in the water down at Westfield House??? |

HASSRA Y&H have got a couple of big competitions coming up for members next year. § Entertainment Quiz 15 March 2012 § It’s a Knockout 20 May 2012 § Course Angling 1 June 2012 § Archery 30 June 2012 All these competitions and more will be advertised on the HASSRA Y&H website nearer the time. Much merriment and quizifying took place down at the Beehive on Friday 30 September. The winning team once again were the East Brook Court Belles (or 3 girls and Gianfranco if you prefer) They beat a host of other teams by quite a margin, although Josie Boothroyd’s gang took them to the wire in the last round. Gianfranco’s Belles were very happy at their £50 cash prize and a good time was had by all. We’ll probably do another quiz night in the New Year so dust off your Trivia books and get revising!! J |

Offer for members: To support the Bradford theatres, HASSRA are offering a refund of £5 per ticket to any member who produces their ticket stub for a performance at any Bradford theatre venue (subject to a maximum refund per member per year of £20). Please submit your stubs accompanied by a note saying who you are and where you work through to the HASSRA treasurer Paul Beards at the BDC on Leeds Road More local Competitions to come Bradford HASSRA are looking to host a Pool competition up at Cue Gardens in Odsal on Tuesday 31 January. More details in the Winter Newsletter We’re also planning a Darts and Doms evening in February. The actual date and venue will be announced soon And finally…………………….just for a giggle: Q.
