HASSRA Yorks and the Humber

Peter’s Pen Notes

An update from HASSRA Yorkshire and the Humber Regional Manager on what’s moving and shaking within HASSRA in the Region.

Hello again. Well the Wembley dream is over for Barnsley, though perhaps some of our other regional teams will make it to the Play Off Finals. Barnsley did the region proud and I’m sure all of their supporters have some great memories of their cup run.

In many ways being a part of HASSRA is just the same. It’s about belonging to the team and enjoying the good times and great days that it can often bring whilst acknowledging that not every day is Christmas Day or even FA Cup Final day and that being part of our team means sometimes seeing other members enjoy the benefits and great times that HASSRA has to offer but knowing that your opportunity is just around the corner.

Regional Staff Team

We have the pleasure of informing you that we have appointed a new Regional Assistant! Her name is Alison Leggett - welcome Alison!

Cinema Tickets

All cinema tickets are now be priced at £4.00. Although we have regrettably had to introduce a small increase in the price to Cineworld tickets, the price for Odeon and Showcase tickets has reduced. I’m sure you’ll agree this still represents exceptional value for money. A redrafted cinema booking form is attached.

Just a reminder that we now operate a fourteen working day turnaround for all cinema tickets and theme park tickets and would ask you to bear this in mind when ordering tickets and plan ahead when you think you may be intending to visit either the cinema or the Theme Park. I would ask you to please refrain from ringing up asking on progress of your ticket application unless the 14 day period has expired.

Regional Expenses

a revised expenses claim form is to be used by members when reclaiming expenses in accordance with the Regional Finance Policies. There is an increase in the mileage rate from 18p to 25p. A revised expenses form is attached

Crown Green Bowlers

The hunt is on for Crown Green Bowlers for the forthcoming season. Not only for our regional qualifier but also to be considered for CSSC representative matches. If you’re a regular player or fancy having a go we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch by e-mailing the HASSRA Y&H Regional Office

Magnificent Charity Efforts

I have recently been reading through “Best Club” entries in connection with our Annual Awards process and I never failed to be impressed by the wonderful amount of fund raising that goes in within this region through our network of local clubs. In the past year we’ve raised a phenomenal amount for all sorts of deserving charities and I’m sure we’ll do likewise in the next 12 months. Can I ask Club Secretaries to keep me posted on an ongoing basis of any charity efforts your club or any individuals are involved in throughout the year so as I can highlight them in this column. In particular if you’re doing anything for Sport Relief I’d love to know to all about it so as I can share the message with all our other members.

Theme Park Tickets

Full details and an application form for discounted tickets to both Flamingo Land and Lightwater Valley can be viewed on the attached booking form

Membership Card Requests

If you haven’t got one of our new style Membership Cards that actually contains a membership number then just go on the A to Z section of the Yorkshire and the Humber Regional page then please click onto the Card Application Form and send through to our office here at Quarry House, Leeds.

If you need your number for a cinema or theme park ticket application please send both forms together and annotate the ticket application that you are also applying for a new membership card.

It can take a couple of weeks to process these card requests so I would appeal to you to only contact us if you have not received your new card a calendar month after your application has been issued.
