Dave Poulton

A Sad Announcement

Over the Christmas period HASSRA lost one of its real stalwarts. Dave Poulton, although based in the London Region, will be known to many in the South East as, for many years before London and the SE split, he was a prominent member of the Regional Board. Ever since then, he has served on the London Board and made key inputs into a number of activities, notably our annual Sports Day.

My lasting memory of Dave, with whom I have enjoyed many a pint over more than 20 years, will be watching him at the Sports Day Silent Disco, earphones on, oblivious to everything and everyone, dancing away like a demented bear and loving every moment of it!

A formidable member of the all-conquering regional Quiz Team at Special Events, he had a fantastic range of knowledge spanning a lot of things that nobody else could give a toss about! And his motto seemed to be ‘Why use just half a dozen words when 200 are better?’!

Dave - you were a one-off, loved and respected by so many and never to be forgotten. The great HASSRA Club in the Sky is getting a real asset. R.I.P our good friend.
