3 Peaks Challenge 2024

On Saturday 29 June a group of us, from HASSRA East of England, will be undertaking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge and raising money for the British Heart Foundation in memory of our colleague Matthew 'Matty' Sole who unfortunately passed away last year.

We are looking for people who would like to join us as part of an organised event with a cost of £75. This part (£75) and your travel costs will be paid for by HASSRA for East of England for HASSRA members but please note accommodation will have to be sourced and funded by the individuals taking part. Non-members will have to pay the full price themselves. If you would like to join us. There is a little bit of info that shouldn`t be taken lightly ☺.

The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge takes on the peaks of Pen-y-Ghent (694 metres), Whernside (736 metres) and Ingleborough (723 metres), usually in this order, and in under 12 hours. It`s a grueling 24 mile circular route taking in the 3 highest peaks in the Yorkshire Dales. Whichever way you look at this challenge it is a beast of a day and more importantly an awesome day out!

It is 100% recommended that participants take on some form of training before they attempt this challenge and you will have to carry your own water etc in a backpack and have appropriate kit such as:

• Walking boots

• Sports top and bottoms

• Lightweight walking trousers

• Fleece / sports-type hoodie Links to the 3 peaks challenge
