VOLUNTEER WITH HASSRA FYLDE

Volunteer_purple-300x300

We are looking for Fylde members to  step up and volunteer to help with the running of everything HASSRA related across the region.

Whether that be running a Taster Event, organising a Trip, carrying out work at  our Community grounds, helping to  promote the organisation at your office or any other way you can think of.

Why Volunteer?

Volunteering with HASSRA (The Civil Service Sports and Leisure Association) offers various benefits, including opportunities to connect with others, contribute to the community, and develop new skills.

HASSRA relies on volunteers to organise events, manage local clubs, and support regional activities.

By volunteering, individuals can help shape the direction of their region and clubs while enjoying the activities and benefits HASSRA provides.

If you are interested, or for more information, please email:  HASSRA.FYLDEINBOX@DWP.GOV.UK

We are very pleased to announce that DWP staff (not just HASSRA Members) can now volunteer to spend time at the HASSRA Fylde Community Grounds, as part of the DWP Community 10000 initiative!

Community 10,000 is DWPs employer supported volunteering initiative. It gives staff the opportunity to experience for themselves the obstacles faced by our customers on a daily basis, giving us a better understanding of the resources available within communities upon which they may rely.

At our Grounds as well as our Regional Club facilities, such as cricket and Crown Green Bowls, we also have an area of our Allotments dedicated for use by Trinity Hospice and Brian House, this is where patients and their families , along with staff can come and visit. The garden was recognised in the 2024 Britain in Bloom contest with a high level award. We are also are a home to a Veterans Remembrance Garden run by Fylde Coast Veterans.

We have a number of projects planned including redevelopment of a pond area for use by those visiting the site, creation of a wildflower area  and general tidying and maintenance ot the Grounds. All these require volunteers to help with, if you or your team are interested please discuss with your Line Manager and the complete the application form.
