Scotland with Lochs & Glens - 5 Days - Friday 29th May – 2nd June 2026
Join HASSRA Leeds walking club for a break in Scotland. We will be:
Staying at The Highland Hotel which overlooks the popular town of Fort William. Originally built as a Victorian railway hotel, the building is a landmark within the town and retains many of its original features. The hotel interior has been sympathetically modernised to reflect the history of the hotel whilst offering the best of modern comforts.
With views across Loch Linnhe and the distant Sunart Hills, the Highland Hotel offers beautiful scenery and is also within walking distance of the lively town centre. As part of the Lochs & Glens holiday group this hotel is in the perfect location for touring the Scottish Highlands by coach.
Cruise Loch Linnhe and Explore Fort William
The breath-taking scenery of Lochaber surrounds your historic hotel from which you will take a trip on the only loch that follows the Great Glenn Fault. This cruise is a unique opportunity to view Scotland’s marine life, glimpse the highest peak in Britain and then explore the outdoor ‘capital’ of Scotland, Fort William.
Eilean Donan Castle & journey over Skye Bridge
Visit Scotland’s most romantic castle – Eilean Donan. Strategically located on its own little island where three great sea lochs meet, this castle offers a glimpse into Scotland’s turbulent history from the rise of Christianity to Viking invasions and Jacobite rebellions! Eilean Donan retains most of its original features including winding hallways and uneven stone steps. We will also journey over the Skye bridge which connects the mainland village of Kyle of Lochalsh to the village of Kyleakin on Skye. - Weather permitting, you will be taken on to the Isle of Skye for a photo stop and we will endeavour to try and book a ferry crossing over to Skye. (Please note, this day may be done in reverse).
Inverness & Aviemore
Also known as the ‘Highland Capital’, Inverness is the main city in the Scottish Highlands, and although it is one of the fastest growing cities in Europe it still retains its market town atmosphere. Inverness offers a wide range of local produce and shops to explore as well as castles and heritage sites. We will travel via Loch Laggan and through scenic glens into the very heart of Scotland, Aviemore, a popular highland resort and centre for both summer visitors and winter skiers.
