Celebrating National Inclusion Week - HASSRA Launches the 2025 Inclusion and Wellbeing Competition

HASSRA is proud to reaffirm its commitment to being a Diverse and Inclusive association, one that respects differences, promotes positive physical, mental and social wellbeing and fosters an environment where its members feel they belong, have a voice and can be their true, authentic selves. 

As part of this commitment, the HASSRA Diversity and Inclusion and Awards Committees are once again spotlighting National Inclusion Week, taking place from the 15th to the 21st September 2025, by launching a HASSRA Live competition that celebrates and promotes Inclusion and Wellbeing.

This initiative is delivered in partnership with DWP Centre of Expertise for Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Wellbeing (EDIW) Team to develop and review the competition criteria.

Who can enter?

In the spirit of inclusion, the competition is open to all HASSRA Members.  Entries can be submitted by:

  • Individual members
  • Groups of members
  • HASSRA Clubs
  • HASSRA Regions

Entry Requirements

Your submission must describe an event or activity held between October 2024 and 15th September 2025, clearly demonstrating how it promoted Inclusion and resulted in Wellbeing.

  • The closing date for entries is the 15th October 2025
  • Format: One sheet of A4 using Arial font 12, no images

What to include in your entry

Please ensure your entry covers the following:

  • What the event / activity was and the inclusive approach used
  • When & Where it was held
  • Who attended and how many participated 
  • How it was planned and organised to accommodate diverse needs (e.g. location, travel, timing, working patterns, hybrid options, reasonable adjustments,­ caring respon­sibi­lities and differing abilities)
  • Outcome: How the event supported HASSRA's Inclusion and Wellbeing Goals (e.g. increased engagement, improved morale, team spirit, new member recruitment)
  • Feedback received from participants

Examples of Eligible Activities

Your event or activity might include one or more of the following:

  • Promotes physical health and a healthy lifestyle
  • Supports mental wellbeing and resilience
  • Encourages collaboration and team spirit 
  • Builds social connection and shared purpose
  • Fosters a sense of belonging and inclusivity
  • Celebrates the diversity of HASSRA membership
  • Encourages HASSRA members to be their authentic selves

Prizes

  • Winner: £250  
  • Runner-up:£150
  • Highly Commended:£75

Judging and Publication

Entries will be reviewed by an award panel.  Winning entries will be featured in the HASSRA LiveLife magazine, showcasing the inspiring efforts of our members.
