Venue and Timings

This year’s venue is Acocks Green Bowling Alley Westley Road Birmingham B27 7UH.

 The Registration desk will be open at 13:00 with the bowling planned to start at 14:00 on Friday 5th September.  For Saturday 6th September bowling will commence at 10:00.

 Participants are advised to go directly to the playing venue on the Friday.  Should players require transport from the playing venue to the University on the Friday, please contact your Regional Event Manager.

Transport will be provided to (09:00) and from the venue (14:00) on the Saturday.

Event Format and Rules

This is a National Championship event.

Each region will be invited to select a maximum of two men and two women to take part in this competition.  They will bowl six games on the Friday and three games on the Saturday.

The Championships will comprise of a Ladies and Men’s Masters Tournaments (Scratch and Handicap), a Mixed Doubles Tournament (Scratch & Handicap) and a Team Event (Scratch and Handicap).

Owing to lane availability (Friday only), there will be 3 bowlers on each lane.  This will entail three Men’s teams and three Ladies teams being assigned to a pair of lanes to bowl on.  On Saturday, each region will be allocated a lane according to their overall results from Friday.

Further competition rules and the order of play will be made available to all competitors prior to the event.

Kit and Equipment

Appropriate outdoor shoes are allowed as bowling shoes at venues are being withdrawn and may not be available by September.

Competitors can of course bring their own balls and shoes.

Food

A packed lunch will be issued to competitors as they board the coach on the Saturday morning.  If you are making your own way to the venue, please inform the Event Organiser on the Friday so alternative arrangements can be made.  Refreshments are available to purchase at the venue throughout the two days.
