Guy Fawkes Night, also known as Bonfire Night, is a British tradition celebrated on November 5th that commemorates the failure of the Gunpowder Plot in 1605.

It was an attempt by a group of conspirators, including Guy Fawkes, to blow up the Houses of Parliament and assassinate King James I. Today, the event is marked with bonfires, fireworks displays and festivities.
