Hebden Bridge Circular Walk 7.5 24 May

The Walk: This month we will be doing a lovely circular walk of 7.5 miles starting from Hebden Bridge.  After a steady climb at a gentle pace up to the village of Blackshaw Head, we then descend through field and woodland paths with excellent views all the way, returning to Hebden along the Rochdale Canal.  We will have a stop on the canal towards the end of the walk at the Stubbing Wharf pub.  

Meeting Time and Place: Meet at 10.00 am for a 10:15 am start at Hebden Bridge Rail Station. 

By Rail: The 08.57 from Leeds arrives at Hebden Bridge at 09.38. 

By car:  There is free car parking at Hebden Bridge Railway Station (you don't have to be a rail user).  If you need, or can offer, a lift on a petrol-sharing basis; please let Ruth know..

Lunch: Please bring a packed lunch and snacks with you as there will be some stops on the way, including near the end of the walk at the Stubbing Wharf pub. There are also cafes and pubs in Hebden Bridge at the end of the walk

Clothing: The terrain may be muddy and uneven in parts so appropriate footwear will be needed. Given the unpredictable weather, please bring/wear suitable clothing/­layers.
