We will be fishing Match Lake no.6. The Fishery has its own web site and a well-stocked tackle shop which sells all baits inc. maggots. There is a snack bar at the farm which I am reliably informed will be open from 7.30 on the day.

The venue is stocked mainly with small carp, mostly F1s and they fall to most baits and most methods. It is possible to catch well over 100lb of fish so come prepared with at least two keep nets and preferably more. One of the match rules is a max. of 50lb per net with a 10lb tolerance, this will be strictly adhered to.

The Match will be pegged with the draw taking place in the car park at the lake at 0900hrs sharp. Fishing will commence at 1030hrs and the weigh-in will be at 1630.

As usual after the competition I hope to arrange a lunch at a local pub, I will send details at a later date.

The day ticket costs £10 but for HASSRA South East members this will be met from HASSRA funds. As always guests will be welcome but they will have to pay for their day ticket and food, approx. £22 in total.

National Licence's will be required.

I will be running an optional pool of £3 per head to be divided between the top three anglers on the day, guests included. Please bring change for this.

This competition is the first of three legs that will decide the 2025 seasons Regional Champion. The Champion, along with the runner-up and third placed, will be eligible to compete in the 2026 National Championships. The top six anglers will also be eligible to represent South East in the inter-regional’s next year. Also at stake is the Heron Team Trophy, which is open to any two HASSRA members to enter, and as always, the Guest Trophy, open to all non HASSRA members and the Margaret Weston Trophy, for best fish of the day.

The Association is unable to accept responsibility for any injury that may be sustained by members in this competition. It would therefore be in your interest to obtain the necessary insurance cover if desired.

I expect that all applicants will honour their financial commitment even if they are unable to attend on the day.
